A Holistic Approach to Identity

I chose a degree in Biobehavioral Health, because I appreciate the consideration of both biological and environmental influences on behavior.  I lean on this strategy often, but it has really provoked my interest during the current LGBT controversy.

The enemy told me that my tongue was uncontrollable, that my power was in my assertiveness, that my physical assets made me desirable, that retail really provided therapy.

Well, I have found my purpose, and it is to tell all of you that all his lies are holding you back from finding yours!

Purpose is revealed once you realize the enemy’s desire to use you otherwise!

Get hungry!

My heart aches for people who haven’t recognized the Grace of Jesus Christ, but who is to blame?

Those that don’t know Him only know the world.

Just like Pennsylvania, the world is filled with a majority of gloomy days- lies, anger, pain, struggle, sickness, death, with an occasional ray of sunshine that gives us hope.  It’s this false hope that the world will give them more, or that their hard work will really pay off- just like the false hope that the lottery addicts have for winning the megamillions.

The odds are simply not in your favor.

But how can this change?

If Christians would start being like Christ- living by the Word, and allowing people to witness His Grace.

I hear so many people say “I’m Catholic, because I was born Catholic” or “I’m a Christian, but I believe in morals and ethics over the Scripture.”

Wake up call: You are what you eat.

If you aren’t eating the Word for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and putting those words into action, you are simply you, your own god, your own authority.

What if we loved God?

What if we loved God?

What if we truly loved Him?

Not for what He could do for us. Not for what we want Him to accept. Not for who we make Him out to be. Just true love. Through thick and thin. Through rich and poor. Through sickness and in health. Committing ourselves to Him above everything else!

I choose to love Him, to obey Him, and to honor His name, regardless of my opinion, because HE IS GOD…not me.

Communion with LGBT- A Christ-like Approach

As a reminder: no sin is greater than another as it appears some Christians hold gays to be greater sinners than any other. Let’s remember, with the law recently being passed, there is a lot of conversation stemming around it. I’m sure when divorce became accepted it was the same way.

I do want to address the fact that many Christians find comfort going about our business, because we feel it is simply not our place of involvement.  I urge all of you to turn to the Word, because you will see, as I saw, we are expected of so much more as Christians than we desire to acknowledge.

First, James 2:10 says that “for whoever keeps the whole law, but fails one point has become accountable for all of it.”  So, we cannot walk around preaching certain things and negating others.  I.e. “Love our neighbors” “Don’t judge.”

Secondly, we are commanded to warn our brothers and sisters who are engaging/living in sin. Ezekiel 3:20-21 tells us that on judgement day, we, who did not warn, will be held accountable for the blood of our brothers and sisters.

We are specifically told to speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15. When we warn, there is a specific way of doing that. First, we are to go sit down with that person and tell them one on one. If they don’t turn from their way, we are supposed to bring one or two with us to help warn them. If they still don’t warn, we are to bring them before the church, so that they fully understand that they are knowingly engaging in sin. Lastly, if they still don’t turn from their ways, we are treat them like a tax collector or pagan, staying away from them. Matthew 18:15-17

Therefore, we are not to judge the person as good or bad, or condemn them to be a greater sinner than another, but to judge the behavior as either sinful or sinless. So, if it is sinful, and we don’t follow through with the warning process, we then bear their sin.

This is why we have to be in the Word, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us to grow closer to our Lord, because He is God, and we will treat Him like that by obeying His commands.

Love you all! Have a blessed day!

Holy Spirit, You are welcome here.

I experienced something more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, and I must say- for a long time, I didn’t even believe it was possible.  However, I was wrong, and God showed up, and He is MIGHTY!

I was filled with the Holy Spirit and received new tongue.  I was overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit, and brought to tears of joy. I felt so unworthy, yet so thankful, and so, so loved all at once.

I also participated in a healing service by laying hands on individuals and asking Jesus Christ to do His work through me for my brothers and sisters who were in pain.  I literally saw them healed before my eyes.  My cousin was filled so intensely that he became slain in the Spirit.  His back pain was completely healed, and so many others were healed directly before my eyes.

Before experiencing this for myself, I always feared it.  But I found out that Satan truly is a LIAR who comes to steal, kill and destroy.

Thank you, God, for allowing me an opportunity to experience Your might, and I am so sorry that I ever rejected your Superiority!!! Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to receive the Father through You, and for sending the Holy Spirit upon me.

Holy Spirit, You are welcome here!

Loving thy neighbor.

I’m not typically for blanket statements, but for the most part, a parent’s LOVE for their child is unconditional.

Unconditional love means that the LOVE is not subject to any condition.

So, because a parent unconditionally loves their child, does LOVE negate the parents responsibility to lead and direct their child? Would LOVE for their child mean that they should let their child do whatever he or she pleases, regardless of what may happen to them?

This is my rebuttal to individuals who want to rest on the commandment to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. If you truly LOVE your neighbor, you will warn them that their pathway is leading them into destruction.

The ones who don’t warn you are not your friends! They will not be there for you when you hit rock bottom. They will scatter. Trust me- I have watched it happen over and over again, and to many individuals including people closest to me.

An unrepentant heart.

One of the kindest souls that I have ever known wrote this just a week or so before her brutal murder.  I truly believe that God was using her for His Kingdom even without her knowing how short her time left on this earth would be.  This post brings me two thoughts:

1) Praying with an unrepentant heart. What is that? It doesn’t say “praying with an unrepentant mouth.”  We can use our lips to repent as much as we want, but a repentant heart will show through our actions that we truly recognize our old ways as wrong, and CHOOSE to abandon them.  We must repent from the heart, and adopt a new life- a holy one, where we seek to honor God.  If you CONTINUE to pray with the same tongue that you use to curse; If you pray for healing over the same body you lustfully and promiscuously reveal or share; If you pray without turning from your old ways, you are praying with an unrepentant heart.

That’s selfish, abusive and disrespectful to our Lord.

2) We NEVER know when our last day on this earth may be, so we cannot get comfortable in our ways thinking we have more time to change. None of us have enough time. We must turn from our ways now!

May God bless us all, and bestow His grace upon us as we turn from our ways. We miss and love you dearly, Jasmine.  Thank you for sharing with us before you left. We will see you again.
