Racism: The absence of love.

I’ve been racist- I’ve wrongfully judged other races, and to be quite honest, even more so my own. I’ve been a sexist- in one breath a feminist, yet in another a misogynist. I can’t say that I am guiltless of discrimination. Yes, I have had numerous discriminatory thoughts, and yes, a portion of those thoughts were loosed from my lips. In fact, I can’t think of one characteristic I haven’t made judgment upon. You know what- now, that I think about it, I’ve been as judgemental about myself as I have been about others. I hope you don’t do any of these things that I mentioned, because most likely, I will judge you for it too.

What does that make me?  Human.

Thank you, Father, for your unconditional love, and for allowing your precious son, Jesus Christ, to be sacrificed for the forgiveness of my sins. Nevertheless, He was sent to be more than that sacrifice, and as I seek you, I am finding that He is the way, the truth, and the life. I surrender myself and my ways to you, Lord. Save me from myself, so that I can become more like you. Amen.
